Introducing Martin Pryor, the latest external author to be featured on Featherbed Tales

Introducing Martin Pryor – our first new author to Featherbed Tales. Martin's delightful book 𝘽𝙐𝙉𝙂𝙀𝙀, 𝘼 𝘿𝙤𝙜𝙜𝙮 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙚, is a true story about a rescue dog Down Under. Bringing some Antipodean glamour to Featherbed Tales, Martin, originally from Tasmania, now lives in Sydney, Australia.

Bungee is a real-life Staffy–Kelpie cross, who now lives with Martin's son, Lachlan. This is the first in a series of stories about Bungee and marks a new, creative direction for Martin.

Since being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2016, he retired from being a life-long high school teacher and sailing instructor, and has started a brand new creative journey, which he says he “might never otherwise have enjoyed”.

This creative passion and determination has characterised his life. He has written songs, released three new albums, written seven children's picture book stories, started a male voice choir, and his latest venture is writing a musical.

Martin is an inspiration, showing us that when life knocks you down, you can come back fighting and living every moment, with a whole new set of plans and adventures to enjoy with his family and friends.

We can't wait to see what Martin does next and are truly delighted to welcome him into our Featherbed Tales family with the first story about Bungee, the lovable rescue dog.

Do take a look at Martin's first fun and colourful Bungee book, also available free of charge to members of Suffolk Libraries, London Borough of Newham and Durham County Council libraries.
